Salt & Sugar in Hot and Cold Water

• The same amount of salt is added to hot and cold water. There is not much difference in the amount of salt that dissolves in the hot and cold water.
• Sucrose has many O–H bonds which are polar.
• The same amount of sugar is added to hot and cold water. More sugar dissolves in the hot water than the cold water.

• As the temperature increases, the number of grams of sugar that dissolves in water increases significantly.
• As the temperature increases, the number of grams of salt that dissolves in water increases only slightly.
